The Windburn Race Team is a competitive-based triathlon team in Manitoba comprised of athletes training for Elite and Age Group competitions. The team consists of over thirty competitive athletes representing all age groups. The team trains together 8-20 hours per week at venues including the University of Manitoba, Pan AM pool and Birds Hill Park.
Personal and group training plans developed for each phase of the race year.
Performance testing throughout the year to follow athlete progressions.
Team training camps both in and out of race season available.
The Windburn Race Team picks 3-4 events each year where we all converge as a group and race at local, national or international events.
Founded in 2014, the Windburn Multi-Sport Academy provides a fun, friendly and competitive atmosphere for athletes aged 12 and up in a multi-sport environment.
Training focuses on swim, bike and run, as well as combinations of these sports. Training also emphasizes building core strength. Athletes focusing on other sports (e.g., hockey, volleyball, basketball, water polo) also benefit from cross training in this environment. Benefits include but are not limited to improved endurance, muscle balance and injury prevention.
